A year after finishing second at districts, Pasco junior Kellianne May won the A-8 tournament at Shady Brook Golf Course in Sumterville, edging South Sumter’s Micah Adams by a stroke.

May recorded the afternoon’s low round, shooting 7-over-par 79.

Pasco placed second as a team, falling 34 shots behind first-place and tournament host South Sumter (386), and advances to next week’s regional. Nature Coast also qualified for regionals,  placing third at 459.

For the Pirates, Mary Kassabaum shot 111, Kelly Parker fired 115 and Emily Dail equaled Parker at 115 to give Pasco a team score of 420.

The Sharks (459) were led by sophomore Kaelynn Elliott’s 94. Kaitlyn Bugden had 112, Autumn McCullough came in at 125 and Jessica Grimaldi rounded out Nature Coast’s scoring with 128.

Bishop McLaughlin junior Spencer Valdespino came into the clubhouse at 100 and will move on to regionals as an indivdiual.
