Springstead sophomore Megan Berube shot  3-over 74 on a windy day at the Class 2A, Region 2 tournament at the Oceanside Country Club in Daytona Beach.

Berube, who shot  69 last week at districts, was  6 over during the first nine holes. But Berube was able to recover four strokes on the back nine and  finished in second place behind Lake Weir’s Heather Proctor (70).

“It’s outstanding and she is deserving,” Springstead coach Kathleen Long said of Berube  moving on to states. “I would put her against any high school girl golfer. I’m proud of the team as a whole.”
