The offer came via fax today to Land O'Lakes first-year coach Matt Kitchie.

Talented junior lineman got his first official scholarship offer from Florida International, signed by coach Mario Cristobal.

"He's a special player," Kitchie said. "Hopefully we can keep him healthy and use his abilities. The thing that's great about a kid getting offered like that is it brings attention to other kids."

Land O'Lakes has several potential college players including quarterback Stevie Weatherford, lineman Patrick Kronk,  receivers Alex Robinson and Chad Williamson, and tight end Spencer Michelson.

Myrick registered a sack on the third play of the preseason game against East Lake last Thursday. In just one quarter of play, Myrick registered two sacks and tackled the quarterback once more at the line of scrimmage.

The Gators open Friday against Ridgewood.
