3A-3 region cross country: Osceola girls squeak into state

ESTERO -- Behind third-place junior Alexis Irwin (19:45.98), Osceola’s girls placed sixth, narrowly earning their way into next weekend’s state meet. Boca Ciega senior Tyler Suitt placed 17th (21:19.25), falling short of an individual state berth by roughly 10 seconds.

In the boys race, Largo junior Tyler Lewis (10th in 17:30.15) and Dunedin’s Zachary Maciolek (13th in 17:37.05) and Shane Deeley (14th in 17:38.39) clinched individual state berths. No local team placed among the top six.
