After five years of finishing as runnerup, Largo’s girls came through with the school’s first district title.

The Packers did it in dominating fashion, winning all five singles and both doubles titles.

In singles, the winners were: Kelly Taylor (No. 1), Megan Louser (No. 2), Artemis Makris (No. 3), Lisa Rickards (No. 4) and Gaby Emery (No. 5). Taylor and Makris won at No. 1 doubles, and Louser and Rickards were the No. 2 doubles champions.

On the boys side, the Packers had to settle for runnerup again as Dunedin won its third straight team title.

The Falcons’ Michael Beiler won his third straight singles title at No. 1. Teammates Mike Singer (No. 4) and Kevin French (No. 5) also won in the finals. Beiler and Singer teamed to win No. 1 singles.

The Packers’ Brent Babista (No. 2) and Steve Higginbotham (No. 3) won in singles.

Both also won at No. 2 doubles.
