The Raiders’ postseason ended one step short of the state tournament as Plant City managed just one singles win against district rival Sarasota Riverview in a 4-1 loss Thursday.

Raiders No. 5 singles player Trent Lott earned Plant City’s only win with a 6-1, 6-3 victory.

“This is a good building block for us,” Plant City coach Dale Rice said. “We’ve got all sophomores and juniors, so hopefully it’s just the beginning.”
