SEMINOLE — The 5A-11 district semifinals were postponed due to unsafe court conditions inside Seminole’s gymnasium.
Earlier in the day, the school’s air conditioner broke and had yet to be repaired by game time. The heat, combined with a considerable amount of moisture that had accumulated on the court, forced officials to suspend play. At the time of the suspension, Clearwater led one game to nothing after rallying to win 25-22.
The Tornadoes and Warhawks will pick back up with Game 2 at 6 p.m. today. Tarpon Springs vs. East Lake — Wednesday’s other semifinal — will be played at 8 p.m. Both matches will be held at Seminole.
The championship is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday at Seminole.
