Academy at the Lakes junior INF Lauren Evans has been selected to play for Great Britain’s national softball team, Wildcats athletic director Tom Haslam said.

Evans, a USF commit, will compete in the world championships in Toronto and the European championships in Prague this summer. Evans’ mother is British, and Evans has dual citizenship.

Evans was the Times’ North Suncoast player of the year during last spring’s run to the Class 2A region finals after batting .652 with 44 RBIs.

This season, she is 6-for-8 at the plate with six RBIs and two triples.
