Academy at the Lakes sophomore first baseman Lauren Evans has verbally committed to play softball at USF, Wildcats athletic director Tom Haslam said Wednesday evening.
Evans had interest from a handful of other colleges but committed to USF because she wanted to stay close to home and because she liked the Bulls’ coaching staff.
As a freshman, Evans batted .487, knocked in 11 runs and hit seven doubles and a triple. She also plays travel softball for Palm Harbor-based Team
Verbal commitments are non-binding until recruits sign their letters of intent during their senior season.
