Blake point guard Andre Smith, one of the state’s best juniors, is receiving strong interest from a pair of programs from major conferences -- Clemson and Ole Miss.
The Rebels, in particular, really like what they see, Blake coach Winston Davis said.
“They started (showing interest) when he was a sophomore,” Davis said.
What Smith lacks in height (he’s 5-foot-9), he makes up for in ability. He recently scored his 1,000th career point, and is averaging 18 points and five assists per game.
“He’s got something not too many point guards have,” Davis said. “He can score. And he has a super mid-range game.”
