Admiral Farragut defensive back Rayshawn Jenkins had quite the crowd during his signing day ceremony with the entire student body in attendance as he signed with Miami.
Jenkins, the Times' 2011 Pinellas County player of the year, initially committed to USF but switched to Miami in the fall after the Hurricanes offered.
"Miami was pretty much my dream school," Jenkins said. "They were one of my favorite teams growing up, along with Oklahoma."
Jenkins, who also has two state titles in track, will give up that sport once he is at Miami.
"My track days are over after this spring," Jenkins said.
The celebration was not over for Jenkins. After signing his letter of intent, Jenkins had breakfast with his family and plans to go with his teammates for a 7-on-7 demonstration at Nina Harris.
