Admiral Farragut's Rayshawn Jenkins cleared to play this week

Admiral Farragut wide receiver/defensive back Rayshawn Jenkins was cleared to resume playing after fracturing a rib four weeks ago and will be in the lineup against Indian Rocks Christian on Thursday, Blue Jackets coach Chris Miller said in a text message.

Jenkins,a three-star recruit who has committed to USF, was injured in practice days before Admiral Farragut's game against Canterbury on Sept. 16. Jenkins missed that game, as well as district games against Keswick Christian (Sept. 23) and Carrollwood Day (Sept. 30). The Blue Jackets went 2-1 during his absence, losing to Canterbury.

Jenkins was expected to miss four to five weeks. His return comes at a critical point in the season. The Blue Jackets are among four teams in Class 2A, District 5 with just one loss. Cambridge, Canterbury and IRC are the others. On Thursday, Admiral Farragut faces the Golden Eagles in a battle of teams atop the standings.
