Admiral Farragut Academy quarterback/defensive back Rayshawn Jenkins was the only bay area player selected for the ESPN Rise Gridiron Kings competition this weekend at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex.
Jenkins is one of 64 players from the across the country invited to the event, which is Saturday and Sunday and includes 7-on-7 games, as well as a skills competition.
Jenkins, a versatile athlete who will most likely move to receiver on offense this season, has already committed to USF. But he is more regarded as a safety, where he is a three-star recruit and ranked as the 33rd best player at his position according to ESPN.
Because he is competing at the Gridiron Kings, Jenkins will not be able to participate with the Blue Jackets in this weekend's second Sling N' Shoot competition at USF.
