Will Allen, OT, Springstead (6-foot-7, 278 pounds)

The latest: The Eagles senior picked up an offer from Alabama State, Springstead assistant Dustin Kupcik said in an email. The Hornets are an NCAA Division I-AA program in the Southwestern Athletic Conference with a 6-3 record this fall.

Offers: Georgia Southern, Bethune-Cookman, Harvard, Penn, Alabama State

They say: Rivals.com ranks Allen as a two-star prospect.

We say: Allen is one of the North Suncoast’s top linemen. His size, strength and leadership have been pivotal for Springstead’s run game. He is a key reason why the Eagles are the Class 6A, District 6 champions with a 9-1 record. Allen has also received interest from USF, UCF and Vanderbilt, among others.
