The leading pass catcher for Plant’s 2009 state championship squad is getting a lot of attention from college recruiters these days.
Thus far Allen Sampson, a senior WR, has offers from four Division I-AA programs -- Delaware, Georgia Southern, Murray State and Southern Illinois.
Not only that but …
“He’s got a lot of interest from some I-A teams,” Plant coach Robert Weiner said.
One of those schools is Hawaii. Another is Texas Tech.
Sampson is only 5-foot-8, 160 pounds, but he is blessed with tremendous speed and excellent hands. He’s also a tremendous kick returner.
Last fall, Sampson had 39 catches for 671 yards and eight touchdowns -- all team receiving highs.
