There has been a huge development in the recruitment of Plant WR/KR Allen Sampson.
According to Panthers coach Robert Weiner, the 5-foot-8, 160-pound standout will make an official visit to Hawaii this weekend. The Warriors have yet to offer, but …
“I think they’re probably going to this weekend,” Weiner said.
At last check, Sampson, a two-year starter at Plant, had offers from four Division I-AA programs -- Delaware, Georgia Southern, Murray State and Southern Illinois.
We first noted Hawaii’s interest last week.
Last fall, Sampson had 39 catches for 671 yards and eight touchdowns -- all team receiving
Hawaii, a Division I-A program, was 6-7 last year, 3-5 in the WAC, a conference that includes national power Boise State.
