Alonso quarterback C.J. Bennett, who already has made mark on reality TV, now is bracing for some surreality.
He's going to play in an all-star game in Hawaii.
Bennett is one of two bay area players (Gulf's Will Burbridge is the other) chosen to participate in Saturday's Aloha Prep Bowl in Honolulu. The game pits a team of players from Hawaii and the Polynesian Islands (as well as mainland players with ties to Hawaii) taking on a group of all-stars from the continental U.S. Burbride, who's of Polynesian descent, will play for the Hawaii-based team.
Bennett is featured on the reality TV show "The Ride," which follows eight of the nation's top "under the radar" quarterbacks vying for a roster spot in the U.S. Army All-American Game. He's one of two QBs from the show competing Saturday.
