Reality TV has reached the ranks of high school football. MTV beat everyone to that with “Two a days.” But a new show is focusing on eight underdog quarterbacks trying to earn the title of All-American, casting the spotlight on Alonso’s C.J. Bennett is one of its featured signalcallers.
Bennett is one of eight high school quarterbacks featured on reality TV show, “The Ride,” which will be broadcast on Fox Sports Net and Comcast Sports, including locally on Sun Sports. The show follows some of the nation’s top “under-the-radar” quarterbacks through competitions and workouts. The winner receives a roster spot for this year’s U.S. Army All-American Game in January in San Antonio.
The show will begin airing on the first week of November. View the trailer HERE.
Bennett, who committed to the University of Wyoming this summer, participated in a three-day camp in Philadelphia over the summer. While there, he received coaching from former Tampa Bay Bucs coach Sam Wyche and former Philadelphia Eagle quarterback Ron Jaworski.
The 6-foot, 190-pound Bennett, who led Hillsborough County last season with 3,017 yards and 29 touchdowns, has thrown for 1,708 yards and 18 touchdowns in seven games this season.
