A ceremony will be held next Thursday to officially name Alonso defensive end Anthony Chickillo to this year's Under Armour All-American Game.

Chickillo received the invitation back in July, but game representatives will be at Alonso on Thursday to present Chickillo with an honorary game jersey.

For the second straight year, the Under Armour All-American Game, one of the top two national high school showcase games, will be played at Tropicana Field. It is scheduled for Jan. 5 at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast live on ESPN.

Last season, Tampa Catholic offensive tackle Chaz Green, now a freshman at UF, played in the game.

This week, Chickillo, who orally committed to Miami in September, opened his recruiting after Hurricanes coach Randy Shannon was fired Saturday night.

The 6-foot-3, 225-pound Chickillo averaged 11.3 tackles a game this season and his 18 sacks were the most in the state, according to MaxPreps.
