With a 14-point effort in Thursday's 55-23 romp of Blake, Alonso senior guard Malachi Christopher reached the 1,000-point mark for his career.

He's the first Raven in the program's 12-year history to reach the milestone, Coach Todd Price announced.

Christopher, in his fourth varsity season, was the team's top scorer the previous two seasons. As a junior, he averaged 15.5 points and 2.2 steals -- both team highs -- for an Alonso squad (15-12) that came within four points of the Class 8A playoffs. He averaged 14.9 as a sophomore.
