Former Pasco ace Colena Lazar has had a stellar season at Santa Fe College in Gainesville.

Lazar was recently named to the Florida Community College Activities Association's all-state first team. She also was named the Mid-Florida Conference Pitcher of the Year.

Lazar, a freshman pitcher, broke the Saints' strikeout record with 269. She also broke the single-game record with 18 strikouts. And the four no-hitters she recorded set single-season and career records.

North Suncoast alumni Olivia Kline (Mitchell) and Sarah Simon (River Ridge) were named to the Atlantic Sun all-freshman team this week as members of Jacksonville University's softball team.

Kline, a pitcher, has allowed just one earned run in 28 innings of relief work. She also has a team-high six home runs. Simon ranks second for the Dolphins in doubles (10) and home runs (5). She also was third with 21 RBIs.
