Jesuit is in the market for its fourth offensive coordinator in as many seasons.

Ty Alvarez, a 1981 JHS graduate the coordinator last season, confirmed Wednesday night he has stepped down and will join Earl Garcia's staff at Hillsborough.

"I appreciated my time there," Alvarez said. "I just thought it was time to go in a different direction and pursue other opportunities that may come my way. I don't hold any grudges against Jesuit. I appreciate my time there, and the parents and their support."

In his lone season as coordinator, Jesuit finished 12-1, amassing a 55-45 pass-run ratio (2,415 passing, 1,989 rushing yards). In his only season as a starter, QB Tommy Eveld evolved into a 3,200-yard passer with 20 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

Alvarez said he emailed coach James Harrell his formal letter of resignation Tuesday, but hadn't received a response as of Wednesday evening. Harrell couldn't immediately be reached.

Alvarez, who served on Robert Weiner's staff at Plant before returning to his alma mater in 2010, likely will work with the Terriers' passing game.
