Sickles junior All-American Amber Henson has already scored 1,439 points in her high school career, but she enters tonight's regular-season finale at Steinbrenner just one point shy of 1,000 points at Sickles.
The 6-foot-4 Henson, last season's Times Hillsborough County Player of the Year, moved to Tampa from Round Rock, Texas, the summer after her freshman year.
Henson is ranked the nation's fourth-best recruit of the Class of 2011 by ESPNU. She is averaging 21.9 points and 12.0 rebounds a game, both county highs, and has 15 double doubles.
Henson has also been invited to try out for the U.S. National U-17 team, which would play in the World Championships in France this summer.
Sickles is 20-3 and the top seed in next week's Class 5A-9 district tournament with a 12-0 district record.
