Anclote has dismissed lineman Terry Linton for conduct detrimental to the team, Sharks coach Matt Wicks confirmed Wednesday afternoon.

Linton, a 6-foot-2, 320-pound junior, was expected to be a key blocker for Anclote. The University of Florida sent a recruiter to school to evaluate Linton in the spring.

Wicks said it's the second year in a row in which Linton has been kicked off of the team.

"We will be fine," Wicks said.

The Sharks (0-2) are off this week but open district play next Friday against Fivay (1-1) in a battle of two contenders for the runner-up spot in Class 5A, District 6.
