The first playoff game in Anclote football history will happen a day sooner than expected.

The FHSAA moved next week’s Class 5A region quarterfinal game against Gainesville Eastside to Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Sharks coach Matt Wicks said in a text message.

It will be a busy two days for North Suncoast teams in Alachua County. A day after Anclote takes on Eastside, Hernando plays Gainesville in the Class 6A region quarterfinals.
