Another offer for King golfing standout

King senior Kelsey Gibson, one of the region’s top golfing prospects, has earned a scholarship offer from Southern Miss, Lions coach Barrett Zebos said.

The Eagles join UCF and Mercer, which previously offered.

Gibson will visit Nova Southeastern next weekend. That program was last season’s NCAA Division II champ.

Gibson reached state this fall by shooting an even-par 71 in the 2A-4 region tournament at Heritage Springs (Trinity), which was good for second place.
