Two quick recruiting notes from over the holidays:

* Land O’Lakes offensive lineman John Kranendonk has been offered a spot as a preferred walk-on at Georgia Southern, Gators coach Brian Wachtel said in a text message.

The 5-foot-9, 220-pound long snapper also earned interest from USF and Stetson.

* Hernando ATH Tyrail Hawkins landed an offer from Nebraska-Kearney, the Leopards senior said in a text message.

Hawkins also said he has an official visit planned for Georgia Southern on Jan. 11-13. He committed there after the end of the season over offers from Bethune-Cookman and Ball State, among others.

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound Hawkins was a first-team all-North Suncoast selection this fall after helping the Leopards make three consecutive playoff appearances.
