Ryan Green, RB, St. Petersburg Catholic (5-10, 195 pounds)

The latest: The way Green is playing basketball these days (averaging around 24 a game and hitting the overtime game-winner Thursday night in the regional quarterfinal) we're half expecting the talented Baron to land a North Carolina basketball scholarship offer. He's close though -- Friday morning, he picked up a football offer from the Tar Heels. The UNC verbal offer continues a stretch where Green is picking up ACC and SEC offers like slam dunks, including an offer from Arkansas he received Wednesday.

Offers: Kentucky, Virginia Tech, Notre Dame, Purdue, USF, Florida State, Florida, Miami, Central Florida, Ohio State, South Carolina, Virginia, Auburn, Mississippi, Clemson, Tennessee,  Arkansas, North Carolina.

Last season: Green rushed for 1,171 yards on 140 carries (8.4 per carry), scoring 15 rushing touchdowns. He also caught 12 passes for 158 yards and a touchdown. Green also had three return touchdowns.

We say: Green who has 4.4 speed and great explosiveness, is ranked No. 1 in the 2013 class of Tampa Bay by the Times.

They say: Rivals lists Green as the No. 90 prospect in the country.
