Armwood center Cameron Dees, an anchor on what is widely considered the state's top high school offensive line, has committed to Marshall, Hawks coach Sean Callahan announced.
Dees (6-foot-1, 280 pounds) made his official visit to the Huntington, W. Va., campus shortly after the Hawks' Aug. 26 season-opening win at Las Vegas Bishop Gorman. He also had offers from Ohio University, Delaware, FIU and Western Michigan, Callahan said.
Behind its behemoth O-line, Armwood is averaging 208.8 rushing yards a game, and 8.14 per carry.
Dees becomes the seventh Hawks senior to commit to a Division I program. The others: LG Cody Waldrop (South Carolina), TB Matt Jones (Florida), OLB Eric Striker (Oklahoma), DL Shelldon Lewinson (Wake Forest), CB Jarvis McCall (USF) and WR Javonte Sneed (South Alabama).
