Pasco ATH Janarion Grant will sit out tonight’s game because of a broken hand, Grant said in a text message.

The Division I prospect hasn’t played this season after breaking his hand in practice leading up to the season opener against Land O’Lakes on Sept. 7. The senior was initially expected to miss three weeks of action. Grant did not play in the preseason game against Hernando with an unrelated ankle injury.

Grant was the Times’ co-North Suncoast player of the year as a junior, racking up 28 touchdowns and more than 1,800 total yards during Pasco’s run to the Class 5A state semifinals.

The undefeated Pirates (4-0, 2-0) face Wesley Chapel (1-2, 0-2) tonight in a Class 5A, District 6 game.
