Alonso DE Anthony Chickillo admitted this morning he was jacked up about his latest offers. One came from Illinois. One came from Clemson. And, oh yeah, one came from national champion Alabama.
“I’m really excited,” Chickillo said via text message.
He should be. Right now, the Crimson Tide has the pick of the litter. Of course, the same can also be said for Florida and Southern California, which also have offered (along with Florida State, which appears to be on the move big time, Miami, Nebraska and about two dozen programs).
“I think I’m up to like 30-something (offers),” the 6-foot-4, 230-pounder said.
How many more offers will come?
It’s hard to say. Some schools likely won’t offer simply because they won’t feel like they have a chance. Still, it seems realistic that another 10-20 could come in, using the Aaron Murray (Plant’s ex-QB) model from two year ago.
