Berkeley Prep P/INF Trent Thompson has committed to UCF, he announced via Twitter Monday night.

"Just officially committed to UCF for baseball!!" he wrote. "Thank you to everyone who has helped along the way!!"

Thompson, a rising senior, was the ace of the Buccaneers' staff last season as they advanced to the Class 4A region final. In 51.1 innings, Thompson had a 1.09 ERA and struck out 60 while only walking 15. He finished the year with a 5-1 record. At the plate, Thompson also hit .310 with a double and six RBIs.

Thompson is the second Berkeley Prep player to commit in the past week, joining SS Bubba Olivera (North Florida).
