Wesley Chapel senior Chase Ingram threw a perfect game in the Wildcats’ 4-0 win over Gulf on Friday.
The 6-foot-1 Ingram needed only 66 pitches to work through the Buccaneers. He struck out 13 and didn’t allow a hard hit.
“He was at the batters all night long,” Wesley Chapel coach Chuck Yingling said. “It’s by far the best game he’s thrown in our program. Really just an outstanding game.”
Ingram entered Friday with a 1.67 ERA and 36 strikeouts for the Wildcats, who improved to 9-2 and sit atop Class 5A, District 8.
