Osceola had three players sign Division I letters of intent Friday afternoon. Catcher Michael Kleinman signed with the University of Tampa, pitcher Keith Weisenberg signed with Stanford and outfielder Jacob McFadden signed with USF.
Weisenberg was 6-2 with a 1.85 ERA last season for the Warriors. A right-hander who has reached 95 mph, he has been verbally committed to Stanford since his junior year. He could also be drafted in the top five rounds of the MLB June draft.
“It’s all about Stanford right now,’’ Weisenberg said. “It’s a big relief to sign.’’
Kleinman is a three-year starter at catcher for Osceola. He hit .365 with two home runs and 18 RBIs as a junior.
McFadden is a transfer from St. Petersburg Catholic. He missed half of his junior season due to a back injury. McFadden has been verbally committed to USF since his sophomore year.
The signing was held in Osceola’s media center in front of a large group of family and friends.
