Osceola proved it could win a pitchers’ duel Thursday night as Justin Kremer threw a two-hitter against Tarpon Springs in a 1-0 semifinal victory in the Lee Byers Invitational hosted by East Lake.

But in Saturday’s tournament final, the Warriors proved they could hit as well.

Evan Hock hit a two-run home run in the first inning and Osceola rolled to a 9-2 victory over Bishop McLaughlin.

Senior Rickey Whiteman pitched four solid innings to earn the victory. Austin Brockway and Mike Kleinman each had RBI doubles to highlight Osceola’s 10-hit attack.

“It’s a nice way to start the season,” Osceola coach Stefan Futch said. “Now we hope to roll into the regular season and keep playing this way.”

In the consolation game, Tarpon Springs defeated host East Lake 7-1.
