Baseball: Riverview sends three to Webber International

Riverview seniors Justin Rose, Chris Gauthier and Derek Jeffery have all committed to Webber International, Sharks head coach Bill Leiby said Monday. All three start for Riverview (18-8), which plays district foe Brandon one last time at 7 p.m. in the Class 7A region semifinals.

Rose, 5-foot-9, 165-pound infielder, is second on the team in, runs (19), RBIs (18) and stolen bases (6) and has a .328 batting average and three home runs to his credit. Gauthier, an outfielder, is tied for the team lead in batting average (.347) and has knocked in 16 RBIs, scored 10 runs and hit two home runs. The 6-foot-2, 160-pound right hander has also thrown 21.2 innings for the Sharks with a 2-1 record, 3.55 ERA and 21 strikeouts. And Jeffery, Riverview's 6-foot-4, 175-pound first baseman, is hitting .292 with 10 RBIs, 12 runs scored and three doubles.

Rose, Gauthier and Jeffery join pitcher Dylan Drawdy (USF) as Riverview seniors who have made college commitments.
