Nine area wrestlers placed among the top five in the 2011 USA Wrestling Junior and Cadet Greco-Roman Nationals in Fargo, N.D., this week.

Among the first-place finishers in the Juniors were Brandon's Rossi Bruno (125B-pound), Kevin Norstrem (130A) and Clark Glass (152A). All three wrestlers won Class 3A state titles in their respective weight classes last season. Other Brandon notables in the tournament were: Kyle Koziel (fourth, Junior 171A), Kyle Norstrem (second, Cadet 98B) and James Flint (second, Cadet 112A).

Springstead's Cody Ross, a state champion in Class 2A last season, also did well in the Junior division, taking second in 140B.

Pasco and Pinellas counties each had one representative place in the Cadet Greco-Roman division: Sunlake's John Ortiz (fourth, 119A) and Palm Harbor University's Aaron Hartman (second. 140B).

"It's pretty exciting being able to wrestled over here," said Hartman, who as a freshman last season was a state runnerup to Bruno. "This tournament is a pretty big deal and it's just a great experience to be able to have this opportunity."
