Berkeley Prep junior outside hitter Jordan Burgess and Plant senior outside hitter Alex Johnson are among the six finalists for this year's Florida Daily Farmers Miss Volleyball Award, given annually to the state's top volleyball player.
After leading the Bucs to their second straight state title and 14th overall, Burgess was named the Class 3A Player of the Year for the second year in a row. Johnson, a Georgetown recruit who led the Panthers to their fifth straight state title, was named the Class 6A Player of the Year.
Berkeley Prep coach Randy Dagostino was named Class 3A coach of the year, meaning he is a finalist for the state coach of the year award.
Winners will be announced in early December.
