Bishop McLaughlin has released Greg David as its varsity boys basketball coach, the school announced Friday.

"We have decided that it is in the best interest of our boys' basketball program to move in a new direction and immediately begin a search for a new head coach," Hurricanes athletic director Eddie Kenny said in a statement. "I want to thank Greg David for his efforts and time this past season, and certainly wish him the very best in the future."

The Hurricanes went 1-19 in David's only season with the program.

Kenny has asked potential applicants to send their resume to ekenny@bmch.com.
