Bishop McLaughlin volleyball turned the corner on its season by winning its tournament over the weekend.

The Hurricanes improved to 10-6 with five victories in the event, including a 2-0 win over Seffner Christian that avenged a sweep last month. Bishop also beat Gulf, Seven Rivers Christian, Crystal River and Brooks-DeBartolo while dropping only two sets in the tournament.

Sophomore Alyssa Mathis led the Hurricanes with 78 kills, thanks in part to solid setting from freshman Brooke Bailey and junior Sara Morrison.
