Bishop McLaughlin hires Gerking as boys basketball coach

Bishop McLaughlin has hired Evan Gerking as its next boys basketball coach, athletic director Tom LoSauro announced Friday morning.

Gerking has served as an assistant at Deltona Pine Ridge since 2010 and also coached at Lyman and University. He’s also spent time as an assistant at his alma mater, Grinnell College in Iowa and Minot State (N.D.)

He will also teach math at Bishop McLaughlin.

Gerking replaces Reilly Campbell, who resigned after one season and a 5-20 record to move closer to his family near Jacksonville.
