East Lake's Bob Hudson is Bucs Coach Of The Week

East Lake coach Bob Hudson, who has guided the Eagles to a 7-2 mark including last week's 35-7 must-win victory over Dunedin, has been picked by the Buccaneers as their Coach of the Week.

Hudson and defensive line Coach Todd Brooks, quarterbacks coach Jamie Burke, defensive coordinator Darius Holtzclaw and running backs coach Brian Riley received a tour of One Buc Place and watched practice Thursday, and afterwards picked up a personalized football, Coach of the Week hat and a $1,000 donation from the NFL Youth Football Fund for the East Lake program.

In a press release, Hudson said “It’s pretty exciting. I’m just one part of it. I brought my coaches that are teachers with me and they kind of helped me get there, but it’s a great honor and I really appreciate it.”

The Eagles play Nature Coast Tech to close out the season this week, and then will travel to Tampa Bay Tech Nov. 19 for the first round of the Class 5A state playoffs.
