Tonight’s Boca Ciega-Lakewood boys basketball game will be played at Eckerd College, Spartans coach Anthony Lawrence said.

The junior varsity game will start at 6:30 p.m., followed by the varsity game.

The game involving neighboring rivals usually is a big draw. Lakewood, the designated home team, does not have a gymnasium big enough to accommodate such large crowds. This is the second time in as many seasons that one of the games between the schools has been played at Eckerd.

“Our gym is too small so we decided to move the game so everybody will have a chance to attend,” Lawrence said.

Lawrence said the Spartans’ home game against rival Gibbs has been moved to St. Petersburg College on Jan. 31.
