After a stellar summer on the AAU circuit, Boca Ciega guard D.J. White has become one of the top players in his graduating class according to espn.com.
Among recruits in the 2013 class, ESPN has White, a sophomore, ranked as the top shooting guard in the state, the fifth-best player overall in the state, the 24th-best shooting guard in the nation and the 92nd-best player overall.
Fast Track Scouting and Hoop Scoop each list White as the fourth-best player in the state. Floridahoops.com rates White as a four-star recruit.
White, the son of former Boca Ciega All-American David White, has been a standout in AAU basketball for years. As a freshman last season, White started and helped the Pirates reach the district semifinals, where they lost to Largo in overtime.
