For the past week, Boca Ciega linebacker Elijah McClendon was in his own personal limbo, scrambling to find a college suitor after Middle Tennessee State pulled its offer.

McClendon landed another scholarship offer from Tennessee-Martin and committed to the school after taking a trip there this past weekend.
“We worked to find something and I’m glad everything worked out for him,” Pirates coach Antez Brinson said.

It was a jarring blow when Middle Tennessee rescinded its offer considering McClendon committed there in August and there was little time left to make visits before national signing day.

Brinson said last week he had talked Tennesee-Martin and McClendon was able to schedule a visit.
