Tampa Prep forward Jay Bowie formally became the first Hillsborough County boys basketball player from the Class of 2010 to sign with a Division I program, giving his signature to Marist this morning.

Bowie, who averaged a double-double (15.9 ppg, 10 rpg) while leading the Terrapins (27-5) to the Class 2A state final, was joined by his mom Sharon and most of his teammates. He joins a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference team that won one game last season.

Bowie (6-foot-5) will join Wharton guard Damian Dixon at Saturday's Florida Association of Basketball Coaches Senior All-Star Game at Ocala Vanguard. Bowie will play for the White, Dixon the Blue.
