Wesley Chapel girls basketball coach Shawn Brown has left the program, Wildcats athletic director Mike Rogers said Monday.

Brown resigned from his head coaching position for personal reasons a week or two ago, Rogers said.

“He had informed us of that possibility a few weeks back,” said Rogers, who took over as athletic director at the end of the school year.

Brown could not immediately be reached for comment. He led Wesley Chapel to an 11-10 record in his only year as head coach.

Rogers said the school hopes to fill the position this summer but could wait until the early fall because basketball is a winter sport.
