Berkeley Prep coach Dominick Ciao confirmed this afternoon that rising Bucs junior Nelson Agholor, who amassed 176 total yards in his team's spring game, has received a verbal scholarship offer from Southern California.

Agholor, considered one of Florida's top incoming juniors, ran nine times for 138 yards and three touchdowns, including a 70-yarder, in a 35-21 spring victory against Orlando Lake Highland Prep. As a sophomore, he gained more than 1,200 total yards and scored 19 TDs.

Agholor's offer may have arrived in part due to Ciao's connection to Trojans coach Lane Kiffin's staff.

Between stints as coach at Jesuit and Berkeley, Ciao worked part-time at One Buce Place, helping Kiffin's dad, Monte, break down film. Lane Kiffin's brother Chris played for Ciao at Jesuit.
