Callahan to coach Hawks duo at all-star game

It appears Armwood will be well represented — in the slot, secondary and on the sideline — at January's Under Armour All-America game at Tropicana Field.

Hawks coach Sean Callahan confirmed Wednesday he'll serve as a coach — in a capacity yet to be determined — for the annual prep all-star showcase, set for Jan. 4 at 5 p.m. ESPN will broadcast the game live.

He'll be joined by ATH Alvin Bailey and S Leon McQuay III, who formally will receive their jerseys for the game Tuesday morning, when the 2013 American Family Insurance Selection Tour makes a stop at Armwood High. McQuay is ranked the nation's No. 3 safety by ESPN; Bailey is the No. 6 athlete.

Wharton's Vernon Hargreaves III , the country's No. 1 cornerback according to ESPN, also will compete in the game. The rosters can be found here.

The contest will mark Callahan's third national prep all-star game stint. He was an assistant in the 2009 U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas; and served on the coaching staff for last January's Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl in Phoenix.
