Calvary Christian administrator David Kilgore said the school has received approval to play the first baseball game at its new $1.5 million stadium Friday against Tampa Prep.
In October, Calvary started construction on the complex, the only baseball field in the area with an artificial playing surface. The stadium project was funded mostly through private donations.
This is the second time in two years a major donation has allowed Calvary Christian to build a state-of-the-art athletic facility. In August 2011, construction was completed on a $4.2 million football field with FieldTurf, locker rooms and an electronic scoreboard capable of high-definition replays.
